About Jerry Ziskind

I was born and raised in New Jersey. I earned my B. A. in American Studies from Rutgers University ( New Brunswick, New Jersey), an M. A. in Teaching Secondary English from Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts), and a Ph. D. in Elementary Education from Catholic University (Washington, D. C).

I moved to Washington, D. C. in 1966 to begin my career as a teacher and taught in a number of schools. I retired in 1999.

I am married with two grown sons. My interests include writing, gardening, Tai Chi, and needlepoint. I am an active member of the Northern Virginia Ethical Society and serve as the Falls Church City representative to the Fairfax Area Commission on Aging.

Jerry Ziskind passed away after a courageous battle with bladder cancer on December 10, 2006.
